New Season Trends: Stripes

Stripes stripes stripes stripes stripes!

One of the trends that seemed to spread like wildfire and found on nearly every single Spring runway, stripes are making a major statement. From accessories to outerwear- they were shown in bright colours at Balmain, black and white at Altuzarra and Chanel brought them alive in nautical cosy knits. They created geometric shapes that complimented a women's figure, they were paired together and we seen designers play with positioning and placement.

It is clear that stripes are here to stay for the entirety of 2015. So naturally, as this trend has been so prominent, and has been seen on celebs such as Sienna Miller, I have put together a list of my favourite pieces from the high street to see you rocking the stripes trend this season.

The questions that I received from Lucy

1. What is your favourite makeup brand?
Currently, my favourite makeup brand is Mac but my favourite brand tends to change regularly.

2. Have you ever moved house?
No I haven't, I have lived in the same house my whole life.

3. What is your life goal?

To become a successful stylist working in the fashion industry. Oh and also to one day sit front row at fashion week. How amazing would that be?

4. Sun or Snow?

Sun definitely. I'm more of a Winter person in general, but when it comes to snow, it is a no from me.

5. If I brought you a puppy right now, what would you name it?

The Lion King is one of my favourite films ever, so for a boy, Kovu and for a girl, Kiara.

6. What country have you never visited but really want to?

Italy is the first country on my list of places I want to travel to. It is so beautiful there and is also home to one of the fashion capitals, Milan.

7. Your favourite thing to do on a weekend?

I have just recently got Netflix, so my weekends are now dedicated to watching Gossip Girl. Where can I find my own Chuck Bass? But before you judge me, I also use my weekends to go on long walks along the coast as part of my New Year Resolution is to exercise more (which you can read about in my blog post).

8. Celebrity crush, male and female (if you have any)?

HARRY STYLES HARRY STYLES HARRY STYLES HARRY STYLES
HARRY STYLES HARRY STYLES HARRY STYLES HARRY STYLES

 9. Favourite clothing shop?
Zara definitely.

10. What advice do you always give people?

Always be yourself and ignore what other people think of you. It's the only way you can be truly happy.

11. Are your nails painted? If so, what colour?
Right now I am wearing Chanel - Tulipe Noire

And here are my questions I hope you enjoy answering

1. Why did you decide to start blogging?
2. Where do you see yourself in ten years?
3. Favourite cereal? (I believe this says a lot about a person)
4. Coffee or tea?
5. What inspires you?
6. How would describe yourself in three words?
7. If you could travel to either the past or the future, which would you travel to and why?
8. If you could live anywhere, real or fake, where would it be and why?
9. What clothing item do you wear most often?
10. What are your goals for 2015?
11. What is the one quality that you would want to be remembered for?

Once again, thank you for the nomination and I hope you all have fun doing yours.

Golden Globes 2015

The Golden Globes are the first big night in the Hollywood calender and set the trends for red-carpet fashion. They shine a light on who to watch this awards season.

With stars including Emily Blunt, Amal Alamuddin, Felicity Jones, Lorde and Keira Knightley all attending the crowd-pleasing prequel to the Oscars, I have picked my top three best dressed and also my top three worst dressed.

Worst Dressed:

3. Jennifer Aniston

All black, split-skirt dress.. We've seen it all before haven't we? I'm normally a big fan of Jennifer but this outfit totally let her down.

2. Lana del Rey

I'm just not feeling this weird mermaid look.

1. Tina Fey

Round of applause for her hosting skills, but I think the short bell shaped skirt speaks for itself.

Best Dressed:

3. Anna Kendrick

She looks like a dreamy princess.

2. Allison Williams

Romantic red Armani Prive dress. Dramatic hair and makeup. It's no wonder Allison has made it into my top three best dressed.

1. Sienna Miller

Natural tones will always look classic on the red carpet and this embellished Miu Miu dress is showing us exactly why.

New Year Resolutions

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2015 is finally upon us and a new year brings new friends, adventures and memories, Every year I say the same thing, "new year, new me blah blah blah blah". But I have realised that this year won't be an entirely new chapter. I will have to face the consequences of last year, but I am determined to make something good from it (and blog more). In hopes of this being an unforgettable year, I have decided to share with you my ten resolutions for 2015.

Exercise:
It's good for the mind, body and spirit. Dance like crazy to your favourite song. Go on a hiking adventure with your friends. Join a Zumba class or go biking. Exercise can be fun.

Don't fear the unknown:
Take more risks. Try new things. Dare yourself. Push yourself. Do something you've never done and step out of your comfort zone. Explore. Travel. Do what makes you happy.

Focus on living in the moment:
Don't live for the past or the future. It's easy to miss the beauty of what is right in front of us.

Read more books:
Books feed the brain and the imagination. They are also a great escape from reality when you need it.

Positivity is key:
Believing in yourself is the key to achieving all your dreams.

Meet new people:
Be polite. Be kind. Make new friends. Accept social invitations, but don't be intimidated to say no.

Speak your mind:
Nobody can be expected to always know what you're thinking. Miscommunication can cause you to suffer.

Shopping is cathartic:
Buy those heels you really love and don't let anyone stop you.

Self love and acceptance:
YOU ARE A FABULOUS HUMAN BEING! Stop caring about what other people think of you. Post that selfie you like, you're not trying to impress anyone. Wear that red lipstick, you look fierce. Become less dependent of people. In every possible way. Fall in love with yourself and then share that love with someone who appreciates you.

Be happy:
If you find something that makes you happy, pursue it.

And if all of the above fails..
1) BECOME A FASHION GOD
2) MORE GLITTER
3) RUIN A LOT OF BOYS

I hope 2015 is full of happiness and love for everyone. And remember, our mistakes make us stronger and wiser. Stay focused. Everything will work out how it should.

Love,
V x
